Went to the Chiefs game tonight. They were playing first place Clinton Lumberjacks.

Rhee, in his second start since returning from the disabled list, worked the first three innings and allowed an unearned run on just one hit. He struck out three batters and walked two while throwing 46 pitches. He has really good stuff and wouldn't surprise me if we see this boy at Wrigley in the near future.

It was an exciting game, as Brandon Guyer hit two home runs, one of which was the game winner as a walk off in the bottom of the 9th after the game had been tied 5 to 5....

Now...for some other "notes".... I CAUGHT A FOUL BALL! Pretty awesome! Oh, it only gets better. I have a Ryne Sandberg Cubs Jersey, and my son has a Sandberg Chiefs jersey....and before the game, Ryne signed them both for us!!!!!! (Pix are uploading now, I will post some in a bit!) I told Ryne that my son was almost named Ryne, and he says "Almost?" and asked what it name was. I told him and then said that his dad is a Red Sox fan and wouldn't hear of it! He looked up and said "Red Sox?" I told him, no worries, he's a die hard Cub fan now!

I walked away, looked at my jersey...and realized I had just had a conversation with RYNE SANDBERG!!!! MY CHILDHOOD HERO!!!!

So, what a wonderful night! I got to talk to Ryno....got his autograph on my Sandberg Jersey..... caught a foul ball (one handed, I might add :)) AND the Cubbies pulled it off!

He was mine too Heather. He was never the same after Michael Jackson hit him with a pitch in preseason one year. I blame his stupid first wife too. I remeber I cried both when he retired and then came back. I remeber he always said that his son wore the number 23 on his necklace. The problem was it wasnt for him. It was for Michael Jordan.

I had heard on WGN radio the morning of his press conference that there were whispers that the press conference was Ryno retiring.... i sat on my bed and watched the conference and just bawled......he as the only thing in my eyes at the time worth watching the Cubs for and now he was gone.

Later on, I had found a copy of " Ryno! Second to Home" ...his autobiography....and started to read it. I loved it and could not believe the "behind the scenes" BS that went on and I grew a very deep resentment for some of the upper management that gave my Ryno such a hard time.... the day after I finished the book, he came out of retirement!
