The Rangers are reportedly close to signing Lofton to a one year deal to play CF. I really would like to see us get him, but I think it's starting to look more like Jones is staying if we let Lofton go. Maybe Church is still a possibility, but it doesn't seem like there is that much interest from other teams in acquiring Jones.

Well, yeah! Lofton would have been useful as a bridge to Pie, but I would have been wary about playing him every day. Church now looks like the Nats starting cf, so unlikely. The rumours of Jones seem to have died out and we would be trading like-for-like (ie someone to replace Jones in the field) so there is no necessity to getting rid of him, and he's a better 5 hitter than barrett. There's still a long way to opening day, but our starting lineup might be the one we would have right now.

I share the same concerns that Scuba does and not only at this point does it look like Jones could end up in Center but the big question is if he wants to be in Chicago? If he doesn't that could really cause him to not put up the numbers we all know he is capable of. This could turn into a problem down the road, lets hope it doesn't and he puts up some impressive numbers and is ok defensively.
