I don't know as if I have ever seen Fukudome smile like he is in these pictures.... heartwarming. I guess it is a reminder that these guys are just like you and me. They go home after work, play with their kids, change diapers, give bottles, etc. Weird that a reminder of normality is brought out at the All Star game! LOL

I'm sorry that kid looks like a 12 year old (at least), so that puts him as an 20 year old father. I guess that will motivate you to succeed right there.

What I Did On My Summer Vacation
by Alfonso Soriano, Jr.

I really didn't have too exciting of a summer. I went with my dad to work quite often and got to meet and hang out with some of his co-workers, and evena few of his competitors. I also got to hang out with my dad on the field at Yankee Stadium. I got to meet guys like Brandon Webb, Ben Sheets, oh, and 49 Hall of Famers who were also there. Too bad they are tearing down the House that Ruth built at the end of the year, it was kind of a cool place to hang out.

Ya know, I wish I had that as my "What I Did This Summer" essay.

I watched the red carpet pre-game and I thought it was so great to see Ernie Banks and Fukudome in the same car. What was really cool was Banks holding Fukudome's son.

I normally don't care about this kinda stuff, but that was just great.

Didn't they find out that Soriano was older than his birth certificate said a few years ago? Could be wrong, but it seems like that happens from time to time with Latin born players. Besides, I heard that Alfonso Soriano is 137 years old. 137 years old!

Hopefully the players getting to spend some time on the field with their families helped to relieve some stress, because they are in for a stressful hard-fought second half of the season.

A lot of the latin players are older than they say they are. They are heavily scouted by all MLB teams. They have to be a certain age to be able to come to the USA to play, so they lie about their ages.
