He is a good pitcher but thats alot of money for a guy who never pitched in MLB . I have a feeling he's gonna get lit up like a christmas tree. I'm more than likely wrong but 51.1 million? They should have put that money into Zito IMO. BTW sorry scuba I put it in wrong place.

Actually, it was $51.1 million just to negotiate with Dice-K, and that money goes straight to the Seibu Corporation, owners of the Seibu Lions (baseball teams in Japan aren't named after the cities they occupy normally). The contract is six years, $52 million. So, the Red Sox have committed a total of $103.1 million for a pitcher that some of us only knew from the WBC, who hasn't made a major-league pitch.
