Anyone who saw/heard the press conference sees that Lou has had it with Fukudome. He does not like him, and does not think he will be able to do anything anymore. So....

Fukudome will either "request" a buy out of his contract so he can go back to Japan with his tail between his legs

The Cubs will eat about 40M of his remaining contract and trade him for some A ball talent with one arm and no legs.

He will spend his days in the minors

But he wll not be on the Cubs 25 man roster next year. He is clearly overmatched, clearly overrated.

i really hope that you are right, at the beginning of the season he looked so promising, but now hes turned into a joke flailing around like nothing, im not sure that he has any trade value at all, its really too bad

What happened was the rest of the league adjusted to him, and he didn't adjust to the adjustments. He needs to learn how to do that as a major leaguer.

But Uncle Lou put's him back in game #3. He did have our only RBI (in that game). After the press conference when "Lou threw him under the bus" I didn't think Fukudome would even have a jersey on. Oh well things started to go south for the Cubs at the end of the regular season. You can't turn on momentum with a switch. In the last series I thought it was ridiculous to see the bullpen guys pitch 2 innings at a time. And the day before they only started 2 regulars. (but the AAA Cubs did beat the Brewers that day. If the Cubs would have taken care of business with Milwaukee they would have played the Met's. The path Lou took to the play-off's was very questionable IMHO.... The end result was Very disheartening....

It's almost as if Lou was coaching The Ohio State University football team rather than a major league baseball team. (The Big Ten has the longest layoff out of all the conferences between the last conference game and the BCS games.)
