Here is a reporters view of Wrigleyville as it prepares for the New Year's NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley. It's going to be amazing....even if you don't follow hockey. AND.... for those of you who don't, it will be an awesome game as the newly revived Blackhawks are doing AMAZING right now! The game will be televised on NBC....

I hope everyone got a chance to at least take a peak at Wrigley in January! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! BEAUTIFUL! AMAZING!
It is very strange to see the seats filled in red.... but the atmosphere is absolutely incredible!

I watched the game... had some waffles and cocoa. I enjoyed it! Very cool to see Wrigley all... wintry. :) Just too bad the Blackhawks had to go and lose...

I got goosebumps during the National Anthem.... I can't imagine what it would have been like being there in person! Last year on Opening Day when Wayne Messmer belted the Anthem out, the electricty that filled that place was mind boggling, and I think this beat that hands down! I think the Cub fans should pick up the "tradition" of going crazy during the whole anthem rather than just the last part of the song! The whole pre-game ceremony was amazing. The game was pretty intense, too... and it was as if the Hawks' just deflated after the first period.

The wild cheering during the "Star Spangled Banner" is a tradition carried over from the old Chicago Stadium for Blackhawks games. Of course, the loudest ovation came during the All-Star festivities in 1991, just after the start of Operation Desert Storm. Wayne Messmer was the one singing both the SSB and O Canada that day.

I knew that was a tradition... I wish the Cubs fans would carry that tradition over as it is amazing! I was really hoping Wayne would have sang the anthem that day, but the Hawks have their own guy now....

Great Pic's Heather...You Gotta admit Jim C. has awesome pipes & can sing Canada's in French! Love Wayne but he has to come in 2nd. Also noted that the P.A. voice was brought over from the United Center to Wrigley....Which is the same guy (name escapes me) that works Comiskey! Great coverage, great game (1st period),great story.During team practices Weds.,Players were out early & trying to get pucks up into bleachers.Don't have to throw them back right?
