He just opted out of his deal with the Dodgers making him a free agent, this is good news for 2 reasons. One it makes 3 great free agent OF chances with Soriano tops, Carlos Lee second, and now Drew enters the fold. Secondly it makes him a candidate to roam our OF, I think he would be a great pick-up. He can play RF or CF his defense is above average and look at his OBP. He gets on base, drives in runs, and fits well with our new hitting coache's mind set. If you ask a Cardinal fan they will go he is injury prone and some people still think that way, but FACTS are he hasn't had any nagging or major injury problems since he left the Cardinals. He missed 100 games in 2005 because he broke a hand being hit by a pitch kind of like freak luck with Derrek Lee. I think he would be a perfect fit for our team

Sounds like another good option for CF.

I've always liked Drew. I've even picked him up in the later rounds of my fantasy leagues because everybody is scared to take a shot on him. And like you said Waveland, the guy gets on base. The Cubs need more guys like that and definitely need to give him a look.

JD has always been one of my favorites . I would rather have him over Jones any day . JD is a more consistant player. I hope for JP to be back at CF . If JH can get JD and JP everything would be OK ;)

I love Drew.

What scares me about him is he's missed 212 games in 5 years.

.393 OBP......whoa...:D :D

I think Drew might be the top choice of these three. He is excactly what the Cubs need. Great lifetime OPS (Better than Soriano and Lee I think). Much better fielder than the other two. The question is, can he stay healthy? With Pagan as a possible backup, it might be worth the risk.

I agree, czech. Take the risk. Pagan's not too bad.

i would take either of the three, but the one i would want, is who we can get for the cheapest. you don't lose out with any of the three, so take the money you save, and go after a solid starter.
