The Newark Star-Ledger says Randy Johnson could be on his way back to Arizona as soon as Saturday.
A baseball official said that while several complicated details remained to be worked out -- mostly involving deferred money owed to Johnson by the Diamondbacks --a deal could be done soon. The report didn't mention what the Yankees would be getting in return.

I wonder if Roger is going back to NY now.

You'd think he would be if they're willing to trade The Big Unit. Maybe they're trying to open up the payroll to offer Roger more money.

I originally thought they had planned to trade Johnson to open up money and a spot for Zito. That plan quickly halted. The onlt logical FA now would be Roger, if he's willing.

I'm not nearly as worried as seeing RJ compared to Clemens

Yea Johnson had like a 5 ERA. I'm not sure what Roger's was, but it wasn't nearly that high, and plus, Johnson would be in the NL West, so we would only play him twice tops.

Is RJ still undefeated against the Cubs?

I'm not sure on that but RJ isn't the same pitcher he was a few years ago. Maybe the back surgery and a change back to the NL may help....we will probably see.

Yea he isn't as dominant as he was a few years ago. I always liked the guy until he went over to "The Evil Empire".
