I needed to get some driving hours in to get my license, so I asked my dad if we could drive up to Wrigley Field. So we went along Lake Shore Drive up there and I tell you this men. I love that ballpark. I love driving by and seeing the lights at the top of the field appear between the buildings, becuase that's when you know you're so close. I love the Wrigley Field sign in front. And I love driving down Waveland and seeing the scoreboard. Just to think of how many years of baseball, how many games have been played there. So much history, like Babe Ruth's famous "called shot" to the infamous Bartman game. I just gotta tell you guys, I love that place, and I cannot wait for the season to start so I can go up there again.

I don't live near Chicago, but get there a couple of times a year. I have to tell you I get the same feeling when the Red Line gets closer to the stop at Addison and you can start to see the lights. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! It's absolutely breathtaking. I get the same feeling I get when I first went to Wrigley as a child when I walk up the steps of the concourse and see the green...smell the "ballpark" smells of hot dogs and beer.... hear the roar of the crowd. I don't understand how some of the so-called fans want Wrigley torn down and another newer stadium built?!?! Wrigley is just as much a part of the Cubs as the pinstripes and Jack Brickhouse or Harry Caray! I love that place too, my friend....

Is it very easy to get tickets at or near Wrigley on game day? I ususally have to try to get my tickets off ebay. Sometimes I get lucky, like the two games I went to last year, I only paid $.99 for each PAIR... but other times, the games I want to go to I have had to pay well over a hundred for a couple of tickets that weren't great seats....way upper deck or way out in one of the outfields. I'm just afraid that if I tried to get tickets on game day, I would be out of luck and it takes about two hours to get to Chi-town and another 45 minutes on the El from midway where I park.

Idk, I usually don't get tickets on the day of the game. Last year me and my dad got tickets off Cubs.com and just printed them out. And I know I've said this before, but I don't think I've said it while you've been here, but I've seen a guy standing outside the entrance to the L, just a few houses down, and he had a lot of tickets, and from what I hear he can have some good tickets. The prices might be high depending on the game, but I'm not sure, because I've never gotten tickets from him, so I'd find out first before I buy tickets from him. I'll try to find out though next time I go, which will hopefully be opening day if I can get tickets for that.

When the cubs played the Red Sox, I was tempted to head up there...and if i didn't get into the game, I didn't care, I was willing to just hang out ouside Wrigley and be a part of the "experience"....

Back in '03 playoffs, one of my friends who moved up there to wrigleyville asked me to come up with him and stand outside Wrigley with him and his buddies. I turned it down because I had to work the next day, and at the time i was working over by the Quad Cities, so my work commute was over an hour in the other direction as it was. I am glad I didn't go now, because it was "That Night" of the 2003 playoffs.

I haven't had to get tickets on gameday in a long time. I usually take the day off of work to get ticks in Feb.

I have seen brokers out on the sidewalks of Wrigley but haven't noticed anything from the tick windows.

When we all have a ton of money to throw around, we need to get a fogpog section at Wrigley (bleachers maybe?)..sigh...pipedreams

If it's gonna be anywhere, it'd be in the bleachers.

It's a whole different world to the greenbacks sections. Evidenced by the fact that they didn't connect until last year.

Yea I've always wanted to be there too. Last year the game I went to was int he upper section. It was too tame for my liking.

:D ...It would definitely be in the bleachers! Maybe we could put something together like this, for even just a day! ;)

That would be awesome, I have ideas, but it would be quite expensive for someone. Someone buy alot of tickets ( don't know how many ) and then we buy them through paypal, or however we would do it. Because I am sure some people don't just wanna go drive to wrigley themselves, they would bring someone. But that would be awesome. Yeah I think I might be dreaming

A fogpog day would be pretty sweet, we would have to get there for BP, that would be the only way we would get bleacher seats together

I'm starting to think that Fogpog day at Wrigley may not be out of the question. The good news is if we get Bleacher tix they are General Admission so we don't have to buy em all together but we would have to meet at the ball park fairly early.

I think if we could get front row seats for our gathering and lay out a banner in the basket in the outfield, the advertising would FLOW IN soooooo much.

I'm drooling because of the awesome potential

You saw that huh Sheff? It was cool that he replied to my question. Not sure if he actually visited the site, but it would sure be something to talk with him on here. Maybe someday....

And, if the site keeps growing and we have the resources, maybe we can get the fogpog shirts going and send a couple to Len and Bob and they can wear them during the broadcasts! Just some brainstorming and dreaming on my part! :p :D

Yeah I seen that Scuba, I like reading what his outlook on things are he is usually pretty accurate in his answers. And the idea of the shirts is a great idea.

Thanks Sheff. I think we'll do the shirts sometime here, but it will be a little bit yet. I'll definitely let everyone know when we get more serious about it. Maybe we can even have a contest or something for the best design idea. ;)

The shirt idea is awesome, i would buy one.

LOL @ the 7th inning stretch, that would be HUGE. just think of how many members we would get that day, plus we would need someone to ban accounts as there would be dumb people coming in doing dumb stuff

I got my license about 6 months ago but my parents won't let me drive on the expressway with all the construction. I'm in Indiana so it stinks not being able to get to Wrigley fast. The Skyway's usually not too bad but nothing's fast enough for me. I get there at 4:30 for a 7:05 start and think I should've been there earlier. I know what you mean. It's my home away from home. :) Like in the movie "Fever Pitch," I refer to the Cubs as my summer family. I'm the girl with the fake Cubs tattoos and the bear claw and a poster that'll say something like "put the Brewers in the sewers" lol.

Welcome to the board! It's nice to have another girl on here who knows her baseball! (My name is Heather, BTW)! I have been compared by some to the movie Fever Pitch, so I know what you mean. As for driving to Wrigley, I am in my 30's and still won't drive through Chicago...thank goodness for public transportation! I am a wimp when it comes to traffic! anyway, welcome to the board!:)

The way I took had no construction going on. I forget what highway, but we took that to Lake Shore Drive, so I wasn't in the city too much. But I do like taking the L instead to games. Even though it's longer, it beats having to walk forever because of the parking. I need to leave real early for whatever games I go to this year though, cause last year we got there less then 30 minutes before the game. It was ridiculous!
