My parents want to open up a cubbies themed restaurant.. kind of a posh, upper crust kind of a place.. The planned name is 1:20. Does anyone here understand the name?

Are they trying to target just Cubs fans, because non-fans might not understand it....

Would they still go with that theme if the gametime was 4:20?

For an upscale type resturant... you should tell them to think about "EAMUS CATULI"! Just an idea....

They should have a sign out front that says "no white sox fans allowed"

This is kind of ironic,I looked at what time your post was and it says 1:20.did you mean to do that?

I like the name "1:20". Not sure everyone will understand it, but that's part of the appeal of it. Same with "Eamus Catuli!". Can't go wrong with either one in my opinion. ;)

Or how about putting one of those signs instead that says: No Shirts, No Shoes, Wearing a White Sox cap, No Service.

I was going to suggest the restaurant be named "Boys in Blue" but I have the feeling it would be confused with a different kinda establishment!!

With EAMUS CATULI, Cub fans will understand it...others will just think it is a fancy name for a fancy restaurant! Win Win situation

My mom looked into it today.. she liked that it was Go Cubs in latin, but didn't like that she didn't understand it until I explained it.

Hey, isn't it a given that if you aren't wearing shoes or a shirt that you WILL be wearing a White Sox cap?

I talked to my brother a little bit yesterday, he wants it to be a bar/grill and on the walls inside, he wants it covered in Ivy, and he wants painted on the bricks the yellow distances or whatever, like 300ft, etc. Sounds like it's gunna be cool

Where's it gonna be, cause I'd be interested in going sometime if it ever happens.

Davenport, IA. He's also talking about trying to get some cubs to come to the grand opening.. i.e. Fergie Jenkins, Matt Murton, and he'd love to see Big Z, but I'm skeptical on that one... it's still in it's infant stages right now.. but he's working on getting investors..

Alright, will do.. We already own the building.. so most of it is going to be getting the funding to do it right..

My point exactly!
Maybe I should have said "Wearing a White Sox or Cardinals Cap."

Sounds like an excellent idea. It would really give the patrons a little bit of the feel of Wrigley.

Love the idea--it's a shame it's out there in Iowa, we could sure use a Cubs bar/restaurant in Champaign...
As far as the name goes, I really like 1:20, but from a logistics standpoint it is a pretty short name (also it's hard to look up a number in the yellow pages, etc.) why not just spell it out and call it "OneTwenty"? The reference is already kinda obscure (you either get it and like it or you don't), and this way it looks a little more like a restaurant name.
