Anyone able to log into the Cubs MB? I've been trying all morning and it gets timed out. As a matter of fact, it's doing that for every teams message board. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with all the spamming going on over the weekend by that crazy dolt.

Just an FYI, I tried the mlb.com MB and this was the message you get:
"Dear Fan, we are currently experiencing some difficulty with our message boards.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back later."
Sorry. I would've deleted this thread, but I didn't see an option for it. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if that crackpot from the spammings this weekend was responsible.

No there wasn't one here. Sorry, I meant the dude that was spamming multiple MLB message boards. He's a real nutt butt. Was using multiple screen names and talking to himself and threatening other posters including some women. Then he posted personal information about several people. He's a real head case.

I got frustrated with that MB a long time ago....full of immature, self-centered, single-minded, disrespectful little trolls! I am so glad I found this site!

I never went there unless it had a topic I liked to post about. All cubs.com mb is "fans" that think they know everything about the Cubs, how they would spend money if they were Hendry, Hendry eats doughnuts, and critize every single move made by whomever the manager is.

I've had some real good discussions there, but i agree, there are some primadonnas over there who feel their opinions are gospel.

Thats proubly the best thing that has happened to that board, every once in a while you will get some decent talk over there but for the most part its in the words of the great 80's icon MR.T "Jibba Jabber"

The MB wasn't always like that. I've been there since 2001 (2003 with bczar) and it used to be a really nice place to post. Then the 2003 season changed everything and it's not been the same since. Now there's arrogance, trolling, and non-stop fighting between the same people. I still like to go there sometimes because there are good people left that are still fun to chat with. It's a shame the way some dolts have absolutely ruined it for the most part.

Agreed. I have been there since 02 and the last few years have been filled with hatred towards others' opinions. I tend to speak my mind with those who feel above others. there are still some good posters on there. some of the high and mighty can be reasoned with if they are put in their place, others cannot.

Couldn't agree more. A few are reasonable, but the "high and mighty" can be worse than the trolls. Sometimes you can have fun messing with trolls, but the almighty "know-it-all" posters have ruined it for me the most. They've certainly made a few of the old school regulars stop coming.

yes that is for sure. Some of them are just too over bearing.

I just got tired of trying to read posts that start out as interesting posts, and end up into childish arguments and name calling... one page of good baseball talk, and six pages of name calling and belittling!

One page of good baseball talk? Please direct me to this thread, because it usually only takes about 4 posts for the entire thread to be derailed.

I think the reason theres no jerks here (yet) is because only die hard cubs fans come here and get along pretty well. When we disagree it seems way way more civil.:)
(And no one nit picking spelling!!!)

Cubs.com is too easily accessible for trolls. Finding a real message board, such as this, would take too much of their precious trolling tiime to deal with. I am so glad I found fogpog.... I would be really insane right now trying to deal with the offseason blues and dealing with the trolls at the same time.
