The Cubs HAVE to start the season with a BANG! In April, 22 of the 26 games are all divisional games...Reds, Brewers, Astros, Reds, Padres, Cards, Brewers, Cards, then the Pirates.
In May, only 5 of the 27 games are divisional, same with June.
July, 13 of the 26 games are divisional, 14 of 29 in August, then 20 of 27 in September.
In the past, the Cubs are notoriously cold in April and May... that has to be different this year. They cannot afford to lose many in April!

Yep, gotta get an early lead and never look back. Also, don't let any 4' 8" lollipop kid run into you and break your hand.

Maybe all of the Domincan players who tend to not play well in the Spring months need to stay in Chicago after the Cubs Convention and get used to the cold until it is time for Spring Training. I remember a game last year when it was in the lower 50's....Ramirez had on a full face mask...and the pitching staff didn't even have on their long sleeves!

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea. They definatly don't adjust to the cold very fast. I remember playing Highschool ball when I would have gave anything for a 50 degree day.

It has to be a shock for them...go from very warm weather in the Winter in the Dominican to Arizona for Spring Training to the wicked winds of Chicago. Hopefully the weather will stay as warm as it has for their sake!

Yeah its weird how that works cause we are used to the cold, come March when we get that 50 degree day we start wearing shorts. But however in November when it hits 50 we bundle up like its actualy winter so imagine how difficult it is for them to make that change.

Last year, (or the year before that, I can't quite remember) at the convention, I remember hearing some of the players so amazed on how cold it actually was, but if I remember right, there was a big snowstorm on that Friday that the convention started and a lot of players had problems getting to the hotel. THAT was a true Chicago winter.

I remember that game very well. What could they do to get them used to the weather so they don't have such slow starts? If Aramis could get going by May, there's no limit to how well he could play all season long, which is what we'd like to see him do!

With the way the weather is now, it will be 75 degrees in April in Chicago. God wants the Cubs to win this year.

I dunno...I almost think God is anything BUT a Cub fan!!!! Gosh, even with Harry and Jack Brickhouse up there pulling for us, we still have gotten nowhere! 2003 was a tease!
