I would think the make-up could be the Friday of the series at the Cell, but trying the same thing that the Mets and Yankees did a few years ago, play game one at Wrigley, and then game two at the Cell as a split-stadium, day-night doubleheader.

ESPN 1000 reported earlier on Tuesday afternoon that the game would likely be played on one of two mutual off days for the Cubs and Sox in September.

Can you IMAGINE the intensity a September Cubs/White Sox game would be if both of the teams are in the final stretch of a playoff run?
There is rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow as well.... we may see both a game in september, and a split venue double header if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate one or both of the next two days. However, being a day game, they have ALL DAY to wait it out... but i'm not sure if/when the city ordinances of night games in Wrigleyville go into effect...if it was supposed to be a day game but doesn't start until after a certain time.

Well, assuming it doesn't rain much on Thursday, why don't they do the doubleheader then? The Cubs are at home the next day, so they don't have to worry about travelling, and the White Sox only have to travel to Cincy for their game on Friday which happens to be a night game, so they would have plenty of time to rest up. Plus, the Cubs shouldn't have to sacrifice an off-day and possibly giving up playing a game at home to play somewhere else to make this up.
It amazes me sometimes how MLB handles stuff like this. There's a pretty easy solution, but of course they're going to find some way to make things harder.

I couldn't agree more, hell that is what I assumed they would do in the first place. Right when it got called I thought 'well doubleheader thursday.'

Off days in SEPTEMBER nonetheless... assuming we are still in "the hunt" in September, they are going to need all of the off days they can get. I don't see a DH on Thursday, tho... I'm sure they would have announced it by now so people who have the tickets to be used could make arrangements.
