This team has so much more in them. It amazes me to see the mistakes they make on a daily basis. The ironic thing is that teams want consistency. Thats one thing you can say about this team, it is consistent- consistently bad.

Before Jim Hendry we never expected to win anything , now we do.

Most people are too young to remember how bad the Cubs were.

As much as you can be critical of some of Hendry's contracts (Dempster, Soriano, etc.) if this team were run people like Dave Kaplan I cringe about what the team would look like.

The fact that most fans think the cubs would be better off trading Zambrano and would rather not change the name Wrigley Field than win a World Series is enough for me.

Its funny how two or three bad signings overshadow all the other great things he has done for us.

1. Trading crap on a stick for Lee
2. Trading crap worse then crap for Ramirez
3. trading crap for key components to the 2003 title in Grudz and Karros
4. Signing Lilly who is very impresive
5. 3 division championships in 6 years

there is more, but this is just off the top of my head

Soriano has been good outside of this year, he is jsut the scapegoat because he makes so much
Fukudome, everyone wanted this guy. Cub fans were praying he would be signed when they first heard he was coming to the States. Now that he is here, peopel bitch and moan because Hendry signed him. STFU, you MFing hypocates. Dont bitch and complain if he signed a guy you wanted and it doesnt turn out right.
Bradley has sucked this year, plan and simple.

Here's the evil-parallel Universe Cubs lineup

C - Pudge (Soto traded/optioned after early season slump, cubs spent millions to bring in Pudge in offseason)
1b - Hoffpauir (Lee traded after bad April, with cubs picking up most of salary, and fans decieved by Hoff's first 100 at-bats in the majors)
2b - DeRosa
ss - Theriot
3b - Aram
Rf - Abreu (despite the fact he can only cover about 50% of his portion in the OF)
cf - Fuld (the future HOF, crappy Fukudome traded in offseason with cubs covering half of his remaining contract)
lf - Reed Johnson (Soriano benched/traded for another crappy contract like Zito with cubs eating alot of money)
