just heard it on espn. they want to sign the recently released closer when he clears waivers today

what do the cubs have to pay him?? $200,000?? Not bad, who knows if he'll contribute anything.

Will they be able to make the move ? Reports now are that the Cubs will have to go into bankruptcy to make the sale.

It'll be similar to the Edmonds/RJ moves last year, cubs only have to cover the league minimum, whatever that is.

He was once a lights out lefty... had major arm troubles and hasn't been the same since. Perhaps Hendry can perform his "broken arm" magic again... it will allow Lou to put Marshall back into the rotation until Dempster gets back.
