I remember one game I went to and we were sitting in RF behind Sosa. You had to love how he acknowledged the fans when you yelled something to him. Anyway, between innings when they throw the ball around in the outfield, Sammy ended up with it and turned to the crowd. I was the first one up and you could tell he looked directly at me. I yelled for the ball and he tossed in the air right at me. Just as I was about to catch it, some guy sitting right behind me falls on me going after it. There was a mad scramble around me for the ball with me on the bottom. I come out of the pile and what do I have...some chicks fingernail mark smashed into my face and a couple bruises on my knee, but no ball. If nobody would have moved, the ball he threw me would have landed in my lap. Just a little story to share. Now, of course, Sammy is who he is, so it makes me wonder what all the fuss was about! Gotta love the bleachers though. Best seats in the house!

Nice story. It sucks you didn't end up with the ball after all that. I like the bleachers too. Has anyone sat right behind home plate? If so, are those pretty good seats? I would think they are.

No I never sat behind home plate. But my mom has to Sox games. No, she's not a Sox fan, thank god. But the office she works at always gets tickets behind home plate for a game every year. One time a few years ago, she went to the gift shop to get a shirt for my grandpa (who was a Sox fan) and when she came back, they told her that the kid behind her got hit in the face with a foul ball, and that she would of gotten hit if she hadn't left. Made me happy. Kinda felt bad for the kid though.

Well before the sox made the playoffs, it was quite easy getting tickets behind the plate at U.S. Cellular field. haha what great support they had back in the day.

I have sat right behind home plate for a lot of games. The seats aren't too bad. The only downfall is you have to see the backs of the players batting. You get a pretty good view if you are into trying to figure out the types of pitches being thrown...or to watch the baserunning. I prefer seats right down the first base line where you can see all of the action and into the dugout. I sat in section 223 for a game last year and they were pretty good seats... just off to the first base side yet right behind home plate.

I have a similar story about Alou. It was here in AZ at Bank One. BP had just ended and Moises came out to the wall to fetch a ball. I yelled down and he looked right at me and tossed the ball up. In my case I got the ball.

Soriano threw me a ball at a spring game 2 years ago when he was a Ranger. He was playing catch between innings. My buddy and I had front row tickets right at first base. On his way back to the dugout he tossed it our way. Little did I know he would be a Cub these days.

All I remember of the 90's was old school Nikalodean. They killed that channel now. I miss Pete and Pete. Thank God I have DVD's with episodes on it.
