Anyone remember when Yahoo Fantasy Baseball starts up again? I want to say the end of February or beginning of March is when you can start creating leagues.

I'd be all for the league to be total MLB rather than a single league, because if it's a single-league format, you'd have to really keep track of who's being traded where. Let's say, for argument's sake, Jacque Jones gets traded to an AL team. That means, if you selected him for your NL-only league, you'd have to drop him and either find a new player in the NL or pick up the players for whom the Cubs traded him.

That's always the tough choice. If you score a lot constantly and lose you're p.o.'d that it's head to head. If you win and don't score much, you hate that it's points. Anyone know the max amount of teams allowed for all the sites? I've always played yahoo and it's never been more than 10 in my leagues.

I've played both head to head and points, and I like the head to head much better.
CBS sportsline, were I've played fantasy football and baseball for 8 seasons, and I think is the best, has 10 teams in a leauge for baseball and 12
teams for football. For anybody who has never done it I highly recomend it.
It is not only a lot of fun,but you really learn alot about other teams and other players.
Al Spanglers ghost
Jan 12th 2007, 5:02 pm
I also suggest mixed leauge over AL or NL only leauges.
It's just more fun to put a roster together when your drawing from the best players in all of baseball, instead of one leauge.
ryno4ever
Jan 12th 2007, 11:14 pm
I found it is easier to stay "in tune" with all of the MLB players if it is mixed. You pay more attention to the AL teams and have a little more background info when Interleague Play comes to town.

That's exactly what happened. Then at the end, when I was not eligible for the playoffs, I dropped all of my players to make them available to help out the guys still playing. But my Commish, the one who made the stupid rule to begin with, wouldn't let anyone pick them up because he said I was compromising the integrity of the league. I'm thinking, geez, it's a freakin' fantasy team. But NL only or AL only isn't much fun. Head to head is a cool style, but I know there are others out there, too.

Sounds like a lot of interest out here...maybe do one head to head league and one points league. That way people can choose one or the other or both. No worries here... I was on 12 leagues last year and didn't give up on any of them (3 yahoo accounts with four leagues each).

I have been the commish for a ton of yahoo leagues , both sites are fun , but the info and stats available on CBS are 10 times better. The nice thing about yahoo , if you want to start your own , you can have up to 20 teams in a league. You just have to keep the starting rosters and bench spots to a minimum , or else you are left with complate scrubs with your last few picks. On CBS you have to play by their rules whereas on Yahoo , you can ALMOST do whatever you want. I have played many H2H and rotisserie , they are both fun to try if you have not done both. Personally , I much prefer H2H.

Overview
SportsLine offers two Fantasy Baseball league styles: Rotisserie and Head-to-Head. Each league will have a total of 10 teams. Each Head-to-Head league will be randomly divided into two divisions of five teams each. There are no divisions in Rotisserie leagues. All rosters will be subject to certain restrictions.

A live draft takes a few hours... Instead of a random pick of your players, you choose who you want on your team, based on availablity.
bczar
Feb 6th 2007, 10:20 am
All right, we have all 10 teams now. Hopefully it won't take a few hours. Every draft I've ever done usually takes about 45 mins. I think it generally takes longer if someone is a no show for the draft since the computer will generate a team for them after the alloted time is up. I believe each person gets a max of 90 seconds to make a pick before the computer picks for you by giving your team the highest rated person left in the draft. Good luck, see everyone tomorrow night.

CBS.Sportsline is very user friendly. Live drafts are much more fun than
automated. I suggest you go into the leauge link, and checkout Leauge Rules.
The way the Draft works and what you need to do is explained clearly there.
I also suggest everyone ranks their players in the order they would pick if it were an automated draft. This is a good back up,if for some reason you have
computer problems or miss a pick the computer will pick from your order of selection in the rank list.I think we should be able to get into the draft room
24 hours before the draft[6:00 PM CST tonight] At that time you will be able to check out the draft room and create a team logo, etc.

Best of luck to you on that new ride. My dad was going to help me with getting my '02 Cavalier, but he was recovering from an esphogeal scope he had earlier the night I went to the dealership to look at it. After finding the check engine light was on, but no other real problems, I had them fix it before we even talked numbers. The next night, I took the car to the gas station where my dad works to get his opinion. Then the used car manager took my old '91 Corsica out for a spin and talked with Dad about a trade-in number. Everyone settled on a number that I ended up taking.

While the first day of drafting has gone phenomenally well, there have been few isolated reports of draft room connectivity issues which appear to be associated with the Internet Explorer (IE) Browser version 7. We are currently investigating why some are experiencing such difficulty and we expect all to be resolved for tomorrow’s draft.
For those drafting tonight who may be experiencing such difficulty, we suggest using Netscape or Firefox browser versions to complete your draft. If you do not have these browsers, you may acquire them for free by clicking one of the links below.

I need to check the waiver wire. I have too many bench OF. I need t add a pitcher... I'vew got 5 closers, which was a goal, but I could add a starter of a backup C.

Yea I'm looking for some backup catchers and 3rd baseman. I'll trade outfielders.

I'd be willing to trade Kendall.... not a home run hitter, but does have some stolen bases, and since he usually bats lead off, he gets plenty of at bats.
Here's what you need to know about Kendall for your Fantasy team: He's always healthy, he scores a lot of runs, he bats leadoff as a catcher and he led the position in stolen bases with 11.

no worries, brutus! We can set up a league in Yahoo, as well. You can sign up on Feb 15. I usually do multiple leagues, so if one isn't set up on here, i'll set one up!

So, you're the one that got a really kick a** lineup, huh? I saw your lineup and was wondering who it was! I'm jealous!

hmmm... take a look and make an offer if you want, I got a few of those!
Jason Isringhausen, Bobby Jenks, Joe Nathan, Francisco "K Rod" Rodriguez. I probably wouldn't deal K Rod or Nathan unless it was too good to pass up, but Jenks and Izzy would be expendable.
