That article was MINT... You can never go wrong with The Onion...

Hopefully Prior will turn down the offer, and stay in Chicago... I think this could be te bounceback year...

Thats hilarious. Maybe the Cubs can offer the List Glendon Rusch (sp) and a player to be named later for Prior. JH needs to jump on that trade..lol

Welcome to the board. :) I hope Mark will stay healthy too, but at least we aren't banking on it this year.

It made me laugh and cringe at the same time. I do love the Kirk Gibson reference.

Sure its funny but when I was near finished I was more sad. BTW, what has Ben Sheets ever done???? 12-14 2.70 ERA???? Also he has a career record of 61-69.

Last year, and the year before that, it was hard to find humor in the whole Prior and Woody situations...but if you take an outsiders look at the whole DL thing with them, you have to find a little humor in it! I am still NOT convinced that Prior's injuries weren't partially in his head. He was lights out up until the Bartman game...after that, he was never the same. Yes, he was injured after the collision with Giles at second base and the line drive that knocked him down, but all the other "mysterious" injuries may be coming from between his ears. Maybe a combination of not wanting to play for Dusty and the FEAR of getting injured, in my opinion, were his motivation for wanting to stay on the DL....hey, he still gets paid, right? I also remember a lot of speculation early last season that he had a secret offseason surgery on his shoulder that he never fully recovered from. That wouldn't surprise me either, the Cubs tended to lie about a lot of issues that they ended up having to eat their words later in the last couple of years.

I've always hated Marcus Giles, but after that collision with Prior I hated him even more. I never understood how that happened, since Prior's like 6'5" and Giles is like what, 5'2"? You think Giles would have gotten hurt real bad. Oh well...

if i had 8mil to spare - i'd pay that just to make prior go away. yes he has the physical tools but the attitude he has portrayed shows me he is clearly bothered by pressure.

i tend to think that the fact MN passed on him the MLB Draft when he was supoosed to be a SURE THING - and took Mauer who is living up to the potential - says a lot about Prior.

he's like Patterson - needs chnage of scenery and we held him too long to get anything of value now.

My contention has been he didn't want to play for Baker and the Clowns. I guess we'll see if that was the case or if this is truely a case of a million dollar arm with a ten cent head.
