And why the Hell did Hendry commit a spot of the 25 man active roster to a non-descript 26 Year old right-handed pitcher. Is this a joke? I hope somebody knows about him and can tell me why? ... can tell me that he's gonna set the baseball world on fire! Please! Somebody?

So why did we just trade for that other very average RH pitcher (Gray?). And why are we looking at the aptly named J.J. Putz.

I HATE RULE 5 !!!

Oh --- my bad. this belongs in the regular "Bleachers" section - not the "Minors" because Parisi is committed to the Big Leagues for a full year. That's the rules.

Maybe they did this just to get him out of the ST Louis Organization (maybe it's St Louis' "turn" - when do we get ours?):

" ..... Parisi gone and likely not coming back

The Cardinals also lost right-hander Mike Parisi to the Chicago Cubs with the 14th selection (12th player taken) in the Major League phase. Parisi, coming off August 2008 Tommy John surgery, was showcased in the Arizona Fall League this October and November and pitched reasonably well, only to be left unprotected by the Cardinals.

The 26-year-old was drafted by the Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2004 draft and became the first player from that class to reach St. Louis when he made his MLB debut in May of 2008.

Because Parisi has been outrighted previously, if he does not stick with the Cubs, he has the right to declare free agency if he clears waivers, rather than be bound to return to the Cardinals. Parisi had also been left unprotected in the 2008 Rule 5 Draft but was not an appealing target for other organizations due to his recovery from surgery. ..... "

I don't mind rule V

The Cubs are just idiots when it comes to this; the feeling alot of guys get picked because they were good in the Arizona Fall League where there is some competition (Strassburg, Justin Smoak, Castro, etc.)
