i really don't acknowledge the HOF until they realize what a travesty it is to not have Santo - tho they did get it right adding Rhino.
will Dawson get snubbed again this year?
i think so with Gwynn and Ripken stealing the spotlight. but he definately belongs in there.
i wish he had gotten into coaching or managing just so he'd have been in the spotlight to help his bid.
still, i've got my fingers crossed here for the Hawk and i'd love to see him go in with a big red C on his head..

Dawson does coach...he is with the Florida Marlins. He didn't get into the HOF, which is sad because here is a man who has given everything he has physically to play the game the right way...and then you have McGwire...but I won't even get into that right now...the fact his name was even CONSIDERED burns me to no end and to think he may get in before Santo really really really makes me angry. Back to The Hawk. this man played until he couldn't physically play anymore, and to this day, has physical limitations due to his hard work he put in as a ball player. His stats are awesome, but i really believe they should look into a different structure of how players are inducted into the HOF.
One last thing on McGwire (even though I said I wouldn't get into it right now...sorry). IF he ever gets into the Hall of Fame, I really think it would discredit and bring down the level of honor it is to be in the Hall of Fame. And if he EVER gets in before Ronnie....I will lose total respect for the MLB Baseball Hall of Fame. Okay, I'll get off my tangent now.

Yeah he didn't play in the AL east so they don't know him. If he had played for the yanks or sox he would have been first ballot I can tell you that. I don't get why MAC (spineless loser and compulsive liar) got that many votes!! Anyone who is a MAC apologist's should not get to watch, attend or listen to a baseball game ever ever ever. I'm not joking the guy is pure, 100% scum. Oh but don't vote for Dawson cause he played for the Cubs. Thats the rarely clear cut bottom line.

Now that we know he did not get in do you think Santo will be voted in this year he was only 8 votes away in 05.

Yeah, I'm not sure what is so great about the HOF if players like Dawson, Santo, and Smith can't get in. :( Maybe they think these guys did steroids or something (sarcasm).

The only way Santo will get in now is if the Veteran's Committee (the living members of the Hall of Fame) vote him in. It helps his cause that Ryno is in there now, because he gets a vote. However, they are very picky about who they themselves vote in. A guy on the radio today made a point that most of the members in there now don't want a lot of company. They consider it as a small "elite" group and don't really care to expand. I believe the Veteran's vote is in February. I really hope he makes it in!

I think what did in the Hawk this year is the fact that you have Gwynn and Cal on the balot as well, thats some serious company.

It's a crime that Ronny isn't in the Hall.

I think Cub fans should flood the Hall of Fame with demands that Santo get in. Here is the link to contact the Veteran's Committee:

Thanks for the link. I've made my expression to the Vets' Committee.
