i think we've done this the past couple of years so I'll get the ball rolling
Soto - 275/360/450, 18 HR, 65 RBI
Lee - 300/385/500, 30 HR, 110 RBI
Bakenot - 270/330/440, 16 HR, 70 RBI
Theriot - 280/350/360, 5 HR, 50 RBI
Aram - 290/375/500, 25 HR, 100 RBI
Soriano - 270/335/500, 28 HR, 110 RBI
Byrd - 270/330/475, 20 HR, 70 RBI
Fuku - 285/375/435, 15 HR, 65 RBI
Z - 3.30-ish ERA, 15+ wins
Demps - pretty much the same as Z
Lilly 3.50ish ERA, 12 wins
Wells 4.00 ERA, 15 wins
Silva - doesn't make it until June

I wish I could be as optimistic as you . You have us with around 700 runs and if we get that we win the division.
I see Sori more at 230 and 10 HR and Soto about the same maybe less. I do think we will hear Cy Young talk about two of our pitchers Dempster / Wells .

definately agree with most of your projections. You may have Lee a little high in RBI. If Aram plays 150 games I would bet my house he has more than 100 RBI.

Well I pretty much predicted performances for a full healthy season, which obviously won't happen.
Aramis is a bigger question mark right now than Soriano and Soto.
If Wells is around a 4.00 ERA, most people should be happy.

Lou is talking about starting Hill more. I think he has his doubts about Soto too. Fat Soto or Skinny Soto looks more like Minor League Soto than ROY Soto .

70 bottom number- We have three starters, no pen and a unproven closer as we embark on this season. I think we will hit ok- I hope we play better defense because we don't have the pitching staff to give teams for 4 or 5 outs per inning. Off we go!
Standings....

Cubs
Brewers
Astros
Reds
Pirates

Lou says alot of crazy stuff in spring training
People were so concerned last hear about Soto's weight, playing the WBC, smoking weed that they failed to notice when he was actually 100% healthy he was hitting well.
There's too much tabloid/National Enquirer/TMZstyle analysis that goes on with this team.

Lou says the same **** every year " I like this team , I have a real good bench and should be able to rest my guys , If i can get some good outings by our pitching staff and we can get some hits we should be fine "
This is the first time I have heard from the top down in the organization that " contracts will not determine if someone plays every day "

That's easy to say when you have a Jason Heyward or Matt Wieters.
All the Cubs have is Tyler Colvin; not that impressive.

I saw somewhere that Soto's line drive rate is almost 40%, yet his batting average on balls-in-play is only .231, which is insanely unlucky

His 7 walks, to just 5 strike outs, is also a good sign...

We finally have human beings running the Cubs again (after almost 30 years) - not some "corporate entity" or a carpet-bagger freak.

" ... His 7 walks ..... is also a good sign... "
And is reflected in his .423 OBP. Numbers are so deceiving this time of year. He has 19 AB and 4 hits (.211). Two more hits and he's hitting .315. He might come around.
However there are red flags:
" ... In June 2009, Soto was revealed to have tested positive for marijuana at the World Baseball Classic.[13] ... "
He has to realize that if he wants to be a top-notch ballplayer he has to lay off the weed for 6 or more months.

yea, in all the hubbub of Weedgate 2009 he actually improved both walk and decreased his K rate last year.

I go with by what I see , I see him taking good swings and being decisive on his pitch selection. I love seeing him shorten up his swing and going with a pitch instead of trying to pull everything. These are two very good signs !! This is one case where I will be very happy being wrong on if Soto can match his power numbers from ROY year.
What is really sweet is this Baker and Fontenot scrapping for playing time. It looks like them battling is bringing out the best in both players. It almost makes you want to see every position player have someone wanting their spot .

LOL - Soto's top three comparables on baseball reference
1. Jody Davis
2. Rick Wilkins
3. Chris Ianetta, the Khalil Greene of catchers
