If Z is coming back to the rotation? Lilly, Gorz wont because we have enough lefties there as is. Demps has been very good, while Wells and Silva have also been pretty good.

I have suggested Wells because he starts fast and does not give up runs in his first 4, or so, innings. Dempster seems like a likely victim because he has had bullpen success before.
Is a trade in the works? Dempster also does not have "no-trade" protection. Neither does Silva.
I'm guessing Wells - where he might do very "well" ! Or Silva.

I'd really hate Gorz or Wells to go to the pen the way they are pitching.
Silva's obviously been pitching well, but Gorz and Wells have futures with the Club

That is my reason. I think some experience of pitching in big spots , screaming fans and full pressure , will help Wells in his development.
Wells has the makings of more than just a good pitcher , with some direction and tooling he may be great . Thank GOD for Maddux being in the organization.

@#$@# Grabow
This guy sucks. He fooled the Cubs with his luckily low ERA last year, and the Cubs ignored his terrible K and BB rates when they re-signed him.
The Cubs two most expensive relievers (Samardzija and Grabow) have been their worst. Luckily Hendry was able to sign him for 'cheap' instead of offering him arbitration.
Can't wait for the Bob Howry and John Grabow late game combos.

It sounds like Jay Jackson is going to be up here in June, they've moved him to the bullpen already in Iowa to get used to the workload.
I imagine the Cubs will cut Batting Practice Bob when Jackson comes up.
honestly, besides Grabow the pen has not been bad the last month.

I don't think it really matters. As long as Lou is keeping his foot on the throat of our offense , we will continue to struggle.

I really like you're idea of piggy backing two starters, but obviously it won't happen.
