Hes made mincemeat of AA pitching which is not too harder fro AAA pitching. his numbers dwarf Colvins and he can steal bases on top of that.
He should be in straight competition with colvin for a starting job if fukudome is traded:

Guyer is exactly the kind of player I wish the Cubs would make a push for. Why? Because he has speed and can play defense. His speed translates into a high SB%(29 for 32) because of his good base running instincts.
Guyer might not hit a ton of homers...but he will still SLG around .460 because of his speed. His 37 doubles this season is a nice example of that.
The only knock on Guyer is that he doesn't take a ton of walks. What makes that tolerable is that fact that he doesn't strike out a ton either.
I hope to see the Cubs trade Colvin this off-season, keep Fukudome for the remainder of his contract, and platoon him with Guyer next season. Meanwhile, moving Jackson back to CF in preparation for a possible Soriano/Jackson/Guyer outfield for 2012.

Sounds like a plan to me
Wilken really does draft almost exclusively up the middle of the diamond. I think Guyer was originally a 2b or something, maybe its that defensive spectrum theory.
Not too many decent corner guys in the system.

DRUGS?
Are people too lazy to even do research on a player before insinuating steroids??
Guyer's always had the power to his swing, he slugged 500 in Peoria which is pretty damn good for that league. The difference is he is making much more contact with the ball this year.

And this guy has played at the major league level when?
Colvin Is a proven Major Leaguer not an unproven player like Guyer.
