Hey,

I'm new to the group. Hoping to meet some other Cubs fans and get into some good conversations. I live in the St. Louis area, so I'm always getting a lot of grief from Cardinal "fans" (I put quotes around it because I can't really call them fans when they only root for the Cards when they have playoff hopes). Anyway, nice to meet you all. GO CUBS!!!

Are you originally from Illinois? how did you become a cub fan living in St Louis?

I grew up in Southern Illinois. About 2 hours away from St. Louis, and 4 hours away from Chicago. My family and I were the only Cubs fans in our small town. Every one else was Cards fans. The wierd thing was, we rooted for the Cardinals football team (when it was still in St. Louis). The rest of the town rooted for da Bears. I guess my family just liked rooting for the underdogs. I've been a die-hard Cubs fan ever since. Moved to St. Louis for a job after college. You'd be surprised how many Cubs fans I run into here.

I think in general, you'd be surprised how many cub fans exist all around the country. Welcome to the board at any rate

Excellent follow up. I think there are quite a few younger fans on this board. I could be wrong.

I hope the Cubs will 'Break on through to the other side" into the playoffs and specifically a WS championship.

Unfortunately there are hordes of Card fans in Chicago. I cant stand it. Way to represent in the Lou!
