Any thoughts on the cubs pursuing a trade with ATL for Martin Prado??

2b/3b/OF versatiltiy, 3 good offensive years before being injured last year.

I like where you're headed with this...

I hope the Cubs' new management avoids this years free-agent class(as previously mentioned, the 2013 class is loaded at SP), and instead, prioritizes their focus on two things:

Dumping awful contracts and getting other teams to take on as much financial responsibility, even if that means getting mediocre prospects in return. That means Dempster, Zambrano and Soriano.

Second, acquiring talent via trades. Avoid this years top tier FA. Instead, look to acquire young players like Gabby Sanchez, Gio Gonzales and David Wright, via trade. Sure, it's going to cost us some good, young prospects. But we have glaring holes at a few positons. Be aggressive!

I also really like the Headley/Stewart rumors.

Stewart will be a lot cheaper, and he got a raw deal last year here in Denver.

I think Headley is a great player, .864 OPS outside of PETCO last year, but obviously he'll be much more expensive prospect-wise.
