Okay, yep, I'm superstitious. The reason I started this thread is because when I looked at the board statistics, I realized we were at a very unlucky thread count number...thus, this is thread number 667.

So.... it's only appropriate, I think.... what are some of your superstitions?

Me? Black cats running across the street in front of my car freak me out. I hit a rabbit on Easter Sunday and was devastated. The big one? About one month before I moved into my house, I came home from work ( I had moved back with my parents until I closed on my house). My stuff was in an attic above the garage. The only way up was to climb a ladder and crawl through a little hole in the ceiling of the garage. I set the ladder up, not really thinking about it, walked under it to go grab some gloves (I don't like spiders, either). I climbed up the ladder and got a box of stuff I was looking for. I sat down and put my legs through the hole of the garage ceiling to step down onto the ladder.... as I took my first step, the ladder gave way and I fell eight feet onto my back and bounced my head off the concrete. My whole body burned and my legs and arms were flying around, but I couldn't control them. I thought I had broken my back. My brother, who is an EMT happened to come to my parents house right then and walked into the garage and saw me on the floor. I only ended up with a brain contusion, a lump on the back of my head the size of a softball and a really bad headache. But, to this day, I will not go near, around, or on a ladder. My stuff is still up in that attic, I just went and bought new stuff!

Your superstitions for the lucky thread number 667?

I worked at a gas station back in the day and you would be amazed at how many people would get a pack of gum or something else because their total came to $ 6.66 and they thought it was unlucky.

My uncle fell off a ladder too. He was old and cleaning the gutters and he fell off...no one was home so we don't know what happened exactly, but he was in the hospital and he couldn't remember some stuff for awhile. He's better, but still not the same. When I was little I used to think ghosts were real and haunted houses and stuff but I grew out of it lol...I don't know if that counts as superstitious though!

I remember I was driving to a soccer game I had, and a black cat ran across my car, and I looked at my dad and said, "Oh crap, we're gonna lose now." Wierd thing is, we ended up winning. And it's not like my team was good or anything, we'd had like a 3-4 game losing streak till that.

And another thing, I don't know if this is really a superstition, but I try to never act arogant and stuff. Like I'm trying not to say, "The Bears are gonna win the Super Bowl" because I fear that if I do, they're gonna lose. That's why I'm also trying to keep my mouth shut about the Cubs.

To be honest i was worried about the Bears game because my soccer team had already lost that day and the vibes seemed bad...

Interestingly, there's a new theory around academia which is that the guys who originally said 666 was the devils number got it wrong, and its actually 616, but I couldnt say any more because i cant remember what the original source is.

For some reason I fear the numbers 15 and 19. Now I wear 30 but i wore 13 for my school for years, never found it unlucky, shrug. Anyone else with lucky numbers?

23 has always been my favorite/lucky number...even before Ryno! So, when 23 became such a popular number for my favorite Chicago athletes, it really stuck.

To kind of go off the Bears thing, holycow, I remember watching their game against the Saints and seeing an image pop up that showed how dome teams were 0-9 in championship games that were played outside (or something like that). All I could think of was how they just jinxed it and the Bears were going to now lose. Nice to see that didn't exactly happen! :D
