Yeah, really. Shame for you guys, he's more special than Beckham...

If I were Zidane and my last game ended the way it did (red card for headbutting a guy who was taunting me), I would have reconsidered and have one more go at the game.

I would of loved having Zidane play for the Fire. Too bad.

Really?? I think that's a fantastic way to retire, he probably ought to have waited until after the final whistle, but still, go out with a bang and all that. Brilliant! (Random addendum, but I actually found out about that from Pete Townshend of the Who, that gig was worth missing the World Cup final for!)

Seemingly, this deal could be back on, or at least that's the chat this side of the pond.

Yeah, he's in negotiations to join the Galaxy.

i would bet we've had more coverage HERE of him leaving than y'all have of him arriving THERE. it's ridiculous.

The thing is America is being force fed soccer and nobody here really even cares about it. I can't name any players in the MLS....Sure I'll watch the World Cup but that's all. It's just a publicity stunt.

nobody in scotland cares about david beckham but almost all of our press is based in england so it has been being crammed down our throats for years. i actually dread world cups because its when "britain" has to get behind "england" as they embark on another useless foray into overexpectational, hyperbolic nonsense.

and hell yes, its a publicity stunt. it'll all end in tears...

Though I'm excited about Beckham playing in the MLS, I doubt it's gonna get many more fans. There aren't many soccer fans in the US, and most of them watch other leagues because they know the MLS is A ball compared to other leagues.
