I have ben looking everywhere for an alternative to the MLB chat forums. I used to go to CUBSTALK.com but that seems to have disappeared, so I am glad I found this place. Someone please tell me how to add a signature block!

You need a certain amount of posts in order to get a sig, it's not very many, I don't think your too far from it...25 i think? Not sure. But we can't have images sadly. But that's ok.

Yeah, there's some non-Cubs stuff, but most of it is Cubs, or at least baseball. It's a home run better than cubs.com. Enjoy, and glad to have you!

Hi there! I'm a new member, just registered today. I hope this site is more baseball oriented that cubs.com message board has become and the people here want to talk baseball. I already noticed several non baseball topics, though :( Well, hopefully at least the trolls will stay away for awhile.

First of all, Welcome to the board!

I promise you, this is a much better board than cubs.com. Yeah, there are some non-Cub related stuff on here, but it is all well organized to where you don't have to read those sections if you choose not to. (It has been a long offseason for us all, and for the times when there wasn't a lot of Cub-action, we kept the board alive with everything else.)

Everyone is respectful to each other and their opinions on here. There is no name calling... no "so and so is stalking so and so"... no one accusing you of living in your parent's baseball. Not to mention each thread doesn't end up with two lines of Cub talk followed by bickering, arguing, and name calling for five pages after them.

Scuba and Webgem do a great job with the site, and are always open to suggestions to making it better. Again, welcome on!

I've noticed we have gotten quite a few new members in the last few days. I just wanted to say Welcome to the board! We are all anxious to hear from ya! Lots to do here... lots of great Cubs talk (with no trolling or name calling), an awesome arcade, great links, and all around awesome die hard Cub fans here! Anyway, welcome on!:D

Exactly why i'm here! got drafted from a board i'd rather not mention-NOT worth it-but the feedback & such is soo refreshing and seemingly genuine! FOGPOG rocks! love the links & need a new mouse i think for arcade-telling friends all about, later

Glad you're here! I went onto "the other board" tonight and saw a couple of threads complaining about the "fogpog members" not leaving them alone. However, I have found many of the true fans who have been looking for a good place to talk Cubs and not have to put up with the immaturity on that board are slowly making their way from there to here.

Hey--Thanks for the welcome!!! Looking forward to talking Cubs baseball with Cubs fans. I hope I can bring some insight to everyone. I live by St. Louis and hear a lot about the Cardinals. I will report any rumors going on with the Cardinals. St. Loius talk radio is saying that the Cardinal startiong rotation is going to surprise everyone!!! Can't wait for the cubs to win the season series AGAIN!!!!!!

I second that, Heather. Welcome to all the new members. And congratulations to all the fogpoggers on reaching the 400 member mark. I know the Cubbies haven't given us much to be happy about lately, but remember: Stay True To Cubbie Blue. And get the word out about fogpog as much as you can. The fogpoggers have really made this the best place to talk Cubs baseball. :D :D

I thought this is a good time to bump this thread as we have gotten lots of new members since the offseason started.... Please don't be shy.... we want your opinions, thoughts, stories, etc! Also.... tell your fellow Cub fan friends about the site! The more the merrier and it is a rockin place to be during the season! Jump on and say "hi"!

Here are some reasons you will love fogpog....

1. No trolling is allowed. We keep very close tabs on this and immediately ban anyone who attempts to troll.....

2. We resepct each other's thoughts and opinions, even if we don't always agree with each other, it doesn't turn into a name calling playground like "other" Cubs messageboards.

3. The people on here are absolutely great! You will find that it is like a whole group of friends that you will find.

4. During the season, we have awesome game threads.... with our own "pat hughes" who calls the game play by play (when he is not at work)...and the rest of us are the "ron santo's" who display the emotions! (Check out some of the archived game threads to see what I mean!)

5. Unlike other boards, animations and pictures are allowed in the posts (just remember to keep them clean).... you will just need an account with photobucket or other photosharing site (they are free)....

6. Hmmm....did I mention no trolling??? :)

7. The arcade is a great way to pass the offseason away. It is competitve, where your points and rankings are kept......and also a place to set up or compete in tournaments in the very large amount of games that are available to play.

8. We have our own little ticket booth where we can buy, sell, and trade tickets throughout the season. Last season, a member on here had tickets to a game, ended up getting bleacher tickets for the same game, so he sold me his original tickets so the tickets didn't go to waste!

9. We want to hear your favorite "Cubs" stories, whether it is your first game, an experience at Wrigley, meeting different players, etc.....

10. I try daily to post any Cubs news that happens and get reactions from everyone on here....

11. This site is only a year old and has made wonderful progress throughout the last year, and is only going to get better!

12. I forgot to mention the media room.... do you have a favorite Cubs song that you just can't get a hold of? Were you aware that there are hundreds of songs about the Cubs out there? This is the place where will find that song, many of our members have an extensive collection of Cubs media that we are willing to help you out! (Stop by the Media Room forum....)

13. This is a site for everyone! We have men, women, teens, "young at heart", and people from all over the world that post on here (even one from Scotland....you can check out the map and see some of the places our fogpoggers are from)..... It is neat to see the different perspectives on the different people on here as there are some who have been around awhile and have seen a lot more Cubs action then some of the ones who were just little kids in 2003..... we have optimists, and pessimists.... some who believe in "Next Year" and some who laugh at the term.... some who remember Santo playing, some who are just learning the history.... while it makes for some good discussions, how people view the team based on their own personal experiences is really neat.

Yep, you can tell it's the offseason, and I have baseball fever really badly.... so jump on in, introduce yourself and feel free to post away! Welcome to fogpog...and you won't regret joining!

Welcome to fogpog!!!!! Stop by often.... this place is awesome, especially during the season!!!!

I'm hoping we see Ryan back this year, as I love his attitude toward the game....

Glad to be on board here. I saw earlier in the thread that 25 posts was the guess at how many you have to have before you can have a signature; is that the correct amount? Just curious. I feel naked without my signature. :)

Currently the requirements for signatures are as follows:
Up to 250 characters
No more than 3 lines
Images are not allowed
Signatures and live links within posts are not available to users until they have been a member for at least 7 days and have at least 10 posts.

Please keep a limit to the amount of links in your signatures. Abuse of this privilege (typically anything above 4 links total) is unacceptable and will likely result in your account being banned.
