Hello, everybody!
As you can see, my name is Elven Scout. (Okay, not really, but it will do) I am in my late teens and live in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I'm in college, but am also working full time (always interesting). Fortunately, my job is just weekends and some hours during the week, so I have plenty of time for coursework and the Cubs.
Other than baseball, I enjoy my job as a Sous Chef at a local resort, fencing competitively and teaching fencing, writing short stories and starting novels, running and other workout related activities, playing with my younger brothers when I get the chance, and writing letters.
I have attended perhaps a dozen Cubs games in my life, most when I was very little. (I was fortunate to be born in Hinsdale, Illinois and taken to several games) Last year I saw them play twice in Chicago (May 30 and 31 against the Reds. They won both games) and once in Philly (September 19th. They lost).
My favorite Chicago Cubs player is probably Matt Murton, Mark Prior, Ryan Theriot, Aramis Ramirez, Michael Barrett, Ryan Dempster, Will Ohman, Michael Wuertz, Sean Marshall, or someone else.
Personally I play as much baseball as I can, both for college and indepentant competitive leagues. I play mostly outfield and second base (even though I'm a lefty), but do pitch occassionally. If I ever make it to the majors, I promise I'll pay to have each one of you come out to a game at Wrigley. Most likely that will be in 2008.
Okay, I'm tired (obviously) and should probably go away now. Thanks for being so welcoming. Administration, thanks for a great board!
