If you look at Jeters numbers they don't blow you away but when you watch him you see he does a lot of things that don't pop out on paper.
The guy is a career 280 hitter.
I like Hudson. He does do alot of the little things that you don't see in the stat sheet(gets an extra base, good clubhouse guy, etc), on top of being a solid hitter and above average defender. But the Cubs need isn't at 2B. The need is in RF. Besides, signing Hudson wouldn't be a significant upgrade at 2B. We have DeRosa and Fontenot, both alot cheaper then Hudson.
