Ned Yost fired!

I'm watching the Cubs Astros game with the Astros TV announcers. They said it's just been confirmed that Ned Yost has been fired. I haven't seen it any where else though. Either way things are definitely not good for the Brewers!

You gotta wonder why they would fire him with two weeks left in the season when they can still win the wild card. I guess Bud's buds in the Brewer ownership saw the writing on the wall, and another playoff spot melting away before their eyes. Last year, they lost the NL Central lead in August and faded away while the Cubs charged. Now, they made a big acquisition of CC Sabathia to try to challenge the Cubs, but their wild card lead of 4 1/2 at one point has evaporated to nothing (tied with Philly, and either 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 ahead of Houston after today).

I'm sure they are trying to do an emergency "jolt".... heading into the Cubs series, we're hot, their not. It worked for the Mets, so maybe they are really trying to grasp for straws and try to jolt a miracle into the team heading into our series. It's do a miracle or die in the series against us.

Just another reason why the Brewers organization is a complete joke, i really hope it backfires on them, and i think it will, and i will be delighted if we are the ones that destroy any hope of a play-off place.

Of course, the Cubs do control the destiny of both the Mets and Brewers. After tonight's games, the Mets pulled within 1 1/2 games of the Phillies for the East and remain one up on the Brewers for the Wild Card. Tomorrow, it's Zambrano vs. Perez in Shea, Reyes vs. Meyers at Turner, and Maholm vs. Sabathia at Miller.
