A very good weekend for Cubs and Lou .

Lou had a nice comfortable chair to sit in all weekend. That Miller Park really is a nice ballpark , one of my favorites and I would guess Fukudome's too .

I may dull my criticism of Lou after seeing him dangle his feet from that chair. He looked old and feeble and I would feel like a bully if I started beating on him . That image is going to stay with me for some time .

Our old friend Milton Bradley has taken off time from the Mariners for some mental help work. If we get one more start out of Silva , we got the better end of that deal .

Who the heck would have thought that ?

What about that 2-4-3 double play in the 4th ?

It is not very often you see that . That requires quick thinking by the catcher .

I wonder if Koyei Hill called his mother after that ?

somebody (Trammell??) needs to erase Tracy's name off the roster clipboard late in the game so Lou doesn't keep using him as the first PH option off the bench.. well maybe even scratch his name off before the game.

Super 'Stros

The Astros just swept the Scary Cards in a three game series.

Who would've thunk ?

Just another example of what I find so fun about this game.

Crazy baseball

We saw real baseball last night and topped off with a manager that was awake.

A smart line up put guys on base and they were forcing the defense to make plays. We were gifted with seeing a attempted squeeze play and double steals and timely pitching changes.

If the Cubs can play this kind of baseball the next couple months we may just claw our way back in this.

I had a feeling that someone needed to put a spark in this team after a month and a half of going through the motions. Maybe the go-homer A-Ram hit Monday night was the spark, or the news that Z is going back to the rotation, or maybe it's a delayed reaction from the promotion of Castro. Something got into these guys, and I hope it continues tonight in Philly.

I have a feeling there is some friction in the "managment chain" somewhere, as in perhaps Hendry vs Lou....the Zambrano experiment is what really made me wonder it... we were getting two very different responses from each of them, and for once Zambrano kind of just sitting back and answering somewhat "neutrally"...
