I'm not worried anymore about the cubs having the talent to deal from, it's the question of what the cubs should go after (sp?? 2b? 3b? get a ss and move theriot to 2b?? c??). The cubs don't have much except for Fox ML-ready at AAA.

The cubs minor league system is looking alot deeper than it has in years as I noted in my post in the minors section, some guys have made some big steps forward, particularly Tony Thomas, Castro, and of course Vitters.

The other high picks, the supposed close to ready college picks (Colvin, Samardzija, Cashner) are the ones scuffling.

I think what they are looking for would be an infielder that can hit for power. ( at least that is what I think we need being Rammy was our guy and that is why we could excuse our outfield lack of power )
Who that could be , I have no idea.

I know it is nuts to think this but I would really be thinking about putting Lee at third and give up on the occasional hop to third and throw to first. He would have better range and stretch to make up against Soriano's love with the warning track. We need someone who can play back at third and still make the plays up on the hot corner.

Damn , we really had no idea how great of a ball player Rammy is until we lost him.

with him ot starting, I think there is a slight chance we may be showing him off for a possible trade. Though thats not very likely since our budget is stretched thin, and likely dont have much if any wiggle room. If we made a trade, the other team would likely have to eat most if not all of the salary. Our ownership situation doesnt appear that it will be resolved anytime soon. that being said, I cant figure out why he isnt starting

I'm not sure Fox has good trade value right now. He's 26, not 22. He's going to have to prove that he's more then just a good AAA player. And it doesn't help that he lacks a defensive position.

I agree with your earlier post, stick him at third NOW.

Fox should probably be at third base until Ramirez gets back healthy.

I think we have to see what we have in Jake Fox. You can't continue to play slap hitting infielders. Fox presents the potential of a slugger. Lets see if he can do it at the big league level. What do the Cubs have to lose? I say play him until Aramis comes back.

He doesn't does he Master? What a useless, irrelevant pissant ( http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pissant ) he is. Right Master? Let's get rid of him forever!
