Giving Jim Hendry some props

I just had a thought with the Cubs most likely winning the division today or sometime this weekend the Cubs have won the division 3 out of the last 5 years Jim Hendry has been GM. Ever since Jim Hendry took over as GM in 2002the Cubs have been a pretty good team except '05 and '06. I would like to give him a couple of bottles of champaigne and a victory cigar in late October. I think he earned it.

Getting McFail off his back really helped . Jim has put together a cohesive unit that works well as a team. He has done wonders with the minors too.

very good job- We needed a center fielder and he got the platoon of Jimmy and Reed. We needed a starter and he got Hardin and Chad G (hope back soon) to replace shaky bullpen help. Good show Jimmy!

Picking up DeRosa/Edmonds/Johnson, i give him mad props just for that, and there are plenty of other things he has done. Was great seeing him in the locker room with the guys celebrating after we clinched.

Amazing what happens when you hire baseball people instead of newspaper people.
