until the first spring training game...against the Dodgers on Feb. 25th

The Cubs announced their spring schedule on Wednesday and it includes 18 home games at HoHoKam Park in Mesa, 16 road games in Arizona and a pair of exhibition games at new Yankee Stadium April 3-4.

Individual game tickets for Cubs home Spring Training games will go on sale Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. CST on www.cubs.com or by calling 1-800-905-3315. The ticket box office at HoHoKam Park will open for the sale of individual game tickets beginning on Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. MST.

Agreed. I need some hardball to wash the taste of the Dodgers' brooms from my mouth. Though the Hawkeyes going to a good bowl game (either Alamo or Outback, maybe even Capital One) took some sting off that.

As much as I have really missed baseball.... I do have to admit that there is a small part of me that really needed this offseason to kind of re-group. This year wasn't as much the sadness as there was in 2003.... wasn't the shock of 2007.... but sheer anger and disappointment and pure frustration.

I am having the hope that WHEN they finally get it done, the past few years will really REALLY make me appreciate it even more.

That being said....

Yeah, it was good for awhile, just to get things back together after that crap fest. But now I want baseball. At least there's basketball to keep me going for now. It's pretty exciting too, Derrick Rose is absolutely ridiculous.
