In lous defense on Bradley, Contreras made him look sick today. He even threw him a 90 mph fastball on a 2-0 pitch right down the middle and he was late on it. This was after he had fanned him twice.

so it sounds like Lou was sick of all the dugout shaninigans (farva what's that place you like to eat at again?) and this was the sticking point.

This kind of "Kid Stuff" has been going on all year. Lou should have told Ryan Dempter & Carlo Z to do the same. They come out of the game they are upset so they destroy equipment. Thus the nice "Gatorade Dispenser" is no longer at Wrigley. I have trouble explaining to the Little Leaguers about losing your temper and having a temper tantrum. These kids see these so called adults acting this way and then the kids think it is the right thing to do. We didn't get to see MB's meltdown, but we did see Dempster and Big Z destroying property because they were ticked off. Lou should have stopped this crap back then.

This isnt going to work out. Lou or MB will be gone after this season if not sooner. I think Lou mainly meant that MB has shown his ass a few times here lately and according to the White Sox announcers it doesnt sound like it is going to get any better. I dont care if he goes 4-4 tomorrow with 4 HRs, this will happen again. We are better team with Hoff/ Big Jake in RF. Get rid of this clown to anybody that will take him and trade for Kotsay for an insurance policy.

yeah i agree unfortunately. If this team begins the downward slide and falls to far out of the race we could become sellers.

This is a bad situation

Firstly, Milton has not done himself any favors lately with his performance and attitude.

However, in his defense, a large part of the media and the fans were on his case before his first game as a cub. It's been somewhat of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Milton is not the reason the cubs are hovering around 500 this year. However, knowing the history of cubs making people into scapegoats for massive organizational-level failures, I have no doubt that if things keep going the way they are, Milton will be the scapegoat for the cubs failures this year. And of course the media and the remaining fanbase will eat it up like they are supposed to and like they have in the past.

this whole season is a mess. Bradley's tantrum was the tipping point, and the target. Many other players have thrown tantrums and Piniella laughed them off. Demps and Z's tantrums were more visible as was Marmols from teh same game. I didnt see Bradley's (maybe I missed it). I think that was the tipping point, but he should have also yelled at Marmol for his gatorade cooler bashing. Or was that ok since he is the cubs "stud" relief pitcher?

dontthink he has a no trade, but with the way he has been performing, who would want him?

plus his contract will make it hard to move him

I think this situation may get a whole lot worse before it gets better. There was a story in the Tribune today where Bradley told Sully that he doesn't feel as if there is anyone in the Cubs clubhouse he can go to to "vent". He was close to Joey Gathright and Gerald Perry, but they are both gone now. It did say that Big Z went to the clubhouse to check on Milton after the "situation", but he didn't have a comment... but Soriano did open his mouth:

Quote:
"I have no problem with him," Soriano said. "I think he's a great guy. The only problem with him is his [combative] attitude sometimes in the game. A lot of people don't like that, but that's him."
...
Quote:
Soriano said if Bradley "is not 100 percent to help the team, we don't need him."
. What he says is true, but I can also see something like this causing a lot of friction in the clubhouse, which is definately NOT what this club needs right now.

Here is the complete story.
