ARAM

Seriously, I mentioned it last week and most thought nothing was wrong. The average isnt the concern to me. It is the Ks. He normally fans around 80-100 times a yr.

Well, he's now hitting .127 with 22 strikeouts in 62 ABs . He'll get over 200 K's at that pace (for 600+ AB). Something is wrong, he can't see the ball!

hey, look on the bright side he probably won't opt out if he has a crappy first half of the season.

In two months, Aramis and his early season slump will be a distant memory.

I still think he'll work his way out of it. I'll take some ks for the hr and rbi totals he has put up in the past.

Not only are the strikeouts somewhat bothersome, but his swing just looks terrible. He looks lost at the plate. I know a lot of the guys have been doing a lot of one on one time with the new hitting coach, I just hope Rudy didn't try fix something that wasn't broken!

Aram has never really struggled. This is all new to him and I am sure he is a little panicked over it. You can see it when he is up at bat. I have the luxury of a 72 inch screen . When a pitch comes in that is in his wheelhouse his eyes get bugged and his tongue flicks. This is a sign he is getting anxious at the plate. I don't know if it is because he feels he has had so little to choose from , most pitchers have been keeping it away on him , our he is feeling lost.
The bad thing with a hitter like Ramirez is you can't really adjust his swing. He is such a damn good hitter you are afraid that if you do he won't ever get back to what he was.

Lou may be doing the right thing with him. Set him down and let him relax a little then put him in the back of the lineup where there is a little less pressure preferably when we are up against a bottom of the rotation pitcher. The seven hole would be a good spot for him to get healthy but I don't know Rammy's personality and how he would take that.
Let him get a couple good hits and I am sure his eye will come back, he has been too damn good for it not to.
