SURPRISING SOTO

MAN, I am really happy he is back to his form of 08. I didn't think he was that good and 08 was a fluke.

his OBP is almost the best of any Cub all time and his defense is much improved. He's handling the staff like Jody Davis and calls a good game.

Hats off

Hell yeah, all the outfielders are doing kick-ass too. Soriano is going to deep into the count on alot of his at-bats.

I would not say he is back to ROY year. When he starts driving for the insane power he did then I will. He does look real good at the plate nice short swing and great pitch selection.

I heard on the radio that Soto is on a .500 clip for on-base percentage. He's taking a lot of walks!

agreed. he's more patient at the plate, but his power isn't where it was in 08

I've noticed a lot of the guys are more patient at the plate! I heard a stat today (not exact on the numbers....but still pretty amazing), that Soriano's average pitch per at bat last year was around 6, this year, it's around 14!!!! I'd be interested to see those same stats with Soto...and even Lee and Rammy, although Lee has always seemed patient at the plate.

Soriano probably never has had a 14 pitch at bat in his career. Maybe he's averaging 6 pitches this season... if that.
