Ron Santo

Is anyone listening to the radio/online? Santo is cracking my **** up!! DLee hits that tailor-made double play and Ronnie yells out "OH NO!!!" I mean it's nothing new, but he is especially animated tonight!

Hell, the only reason I can even laugh at it is because the Brewers screwed up worse than DLee did. Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky...

So, how long before Sabathia's arm falls off? At least they don't have to deal with the Chicago media over-analyzing this guy's pitch count like we do.

Ronnie is what you would call a "manic-depressive" when it comes to the Cubs. He lives and dies by them because he's been with the organization for so long.

I am pretty sure I can relate. In fact, I think we all can. If you cannot, then you are in denial.

Santo ususally knows more what is going on down on that field than what is going on around him....

If WGN Radio replays the Cubs Confidential that they played before Sunday's game about Ronnie, you MUST listen to it. It will make you laugh, cry and be just amazed.

The reason WGN hired him was because of his passion. He reacts as I react. His emotions match mine. I'll take that over the other side of towns blah and dull calls of the plays.

A lot of the time I don't get the opportunity to watch games being out of market. I've got MLB.tv on the computer, but for the day games while I'm at work I absolutely love listening to Pat and Ron. I do fear for his health sometimes when the games are close and he is really into it. I can't wait for the day to hear his World Series winning call.

Ive only got to hear him through some of his clips on this site. I also get to hear him and Pat on JT the Bricks show on the radio if the Cubs get a walkoff win or something. They will play the ending as they give their updates. One can tell it means just about everything to him.

If you go to wgnradio.com, you can buy the CD for the Pat and Ron show.... and Take me out to a Cubs game CD.... both have some pretty wild highlights!

Quote:
Introducing the 2008 premiere edition of the "Take Me Out to a Cubs Game" CD! The songs on the CD cover 100 years of Cubs history, including "Bonehead Merkle," about the 1908 base-running blunder that led to the Cubs making the playoffs and winning the World Series; Steve Goodman's fan-favorite, "Go Cubs Go"; Terry Cashman's "Talkin' Baseball (Baseball and the Cubs) 2008"; Harry Caray's final performance at Wrigley Field of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game"; and the new release, "Fukudome Bring It Home."
Order the Pat and Ron Show

Baseball on the radio with Pat Hughes and Ron Santo. There's nothing else like it. Now, you can enjoy some of the most memorable moments from the Cubs radio booth, plus a few that Pat and Ron might want to forget. This CD includes exciting play-by-play calls along with a priceless collection of those hilarious times when the game becomes secondary to the tangent the conversation in the booth has taken.
