Good offensive baseball today

Sure they mixed in a couple of long balls, but the situational hitting was finally impressive. Lee did get thrown out on the bases , really the only negative. A lot of line drive outs as well. I know they werent facing Greg Maddux today but it is still a good sign. They had a hit and run work again which was good to see. Lets just hope the 2 bloops gets Soriano going. Its going to be hard taking Fox out of the lineup, especially the way he is slugging vs RH pitching. Tough decisions coming tomorrow. I could easily see a fake back injury coming from somebody.

It is nice to see the Cubs get hits when they get runners on and in scoring position, especially while in scoring position. Productive outs are nice to see as well. I hate it when they don't score with a guy on third and no outs. That wasn't the case today.

Jake Fox really hammered that homer.

Lee has been hitting really well for a while now, and that is really good to see.

I would NOT want to be Lou today to have to try to figure out who stays and who goes.

sadly, I think the fact that Fuld and Fox have options left will mean that they are the two position players to be sent down

Fontenot has options as well, so he may be a surprise! Todd Hollandsworth made a comment that it may not come down to who DESERVES to stay or go, or who has options left... and also, Lou is considering going with an 11 man pitching staff until after the ASB.

I will be very upset if Fox or Fontenot gets sent down. Font is starting to hit again and we all know what Fox is doing.

I think it will be Smarj, Patton or Hart, and Fuld. I think he will experiment with an 11 man staff for at least the Braves series. I wish it were Blanco or Baker but neither have options and as long as Miles is hurt, Blanco is our only backup SS.

well, Patton will not be taken off the roster. they kept him this long, he isnt going anywhere.

If two pitchers leave, it will be Samardzija and Hart

Hoffpauir can be sent down as well. I guess Hoff or Fuld, Samardzija, Hart.
