Mixed Emotions......

As I watch the Brewers vs. Phills game I am feeling mixed emotions. On one hand the Brewers losing will drop the Cubs magic # to 10 and thus get us closer to a Division Title. On the other hand a Phills victory will get them closer to the Wild Card wich would mean they will be our first round opponent.

I have been asked many times who I would prefer to see the Cubs play in the first round, and my answer has always been the same "I don't care we are the best we can beat anyone". Wich is true. But in the back of my mind I always saw the Phills as the Cubs biggest threat since spring training. I was actually glad the Brewers landed Sabathia because it was clear that the Cubs where not considered a major bidder one of the other teams mentioned was Philly. Can you imagine that Hamels, Sabathia and there nasty bullpen + all those MVP caliber players they have in there lineup.

With all that being said I still feel confident in the Cubs head on against anyone in this league, but I won't ignore the fact that the Phills will be a tough opponent especially in a short series. I guess they can also be a good team to face as they resemble the Boston Red Sox a lot and I think it will be them in the fall classic. Who knows.

Well I agree with you about the mixed feelings but I root right now anyone that plays the Brewers. I want that division title. I believe if it does come down to Cubs and Phillies it will go to game 5 which will be in Wrigley thank goodness.
